Over 7 lakhs healthcare workers vaccinated so far in Maharashtra

The daily average of cases recorded in first 15 days of February is more than the average number of cases recorded in January. Between February 1 and 15, the state has averaged 2,926 cases daily, while the average in January was 2,973.

A total of 27,698 beneficiaries were vaccinated across 655 centres in Maharashtra on Tuesday, February 16. Of these, 4,437 were healthcare workers who were administered their second shot of the vaccination. On Tuesday, 7,884 healthcare workers (HCWs) and 15,377 frontline workers (FLWs) were inoculated.

So far, 741,370 beneficiaries, including FLWs and HCWs along with those who have got their second dose, have been inoculated. The state has completed vaccination for 5,67,087 (53.76 per cent) of the total registered healthcare workers and vaccinated 1,65,167 (27.78 per cent) of the total registered frontline workers.

Around 27,324 beneficiaries have been vaccinated with Covishield, while 374 beneficiaries have been vaccinated with Covaxin.

Till date, 7,41,370 beneficiaries have been vaccinated, according to the state's public health department. Of these, a total of 1,20,501 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in Mumbai so far.

Apart from this, a total of 9,116 beneficiaries have taken the second dose.

Bifurcating it further, 71,503 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in Thane, 69,156 in Pune, 33,475 in Nashik and 32,655 in Nagpur.

On the other, in the past couple of weeks, the state is seeing an increase in fresh COVID-19 cases from many districts.
