Mumbai Records 925 More COVID-9 Cases, 46 New Deaths In The City

The total number of recoveries in the city has reached 97,993 and currently, there are 19,190 active cases.

Mumbai reported 925 new COVID-19 cases on Monday. The total caseload of the city has reached 1,24,322. With 46 more patients succumbing to the virus, the death toll has gone up to 6,842. Around 1,407 patients have recovered and been discharged in the last 24 hours, as per the data provided by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The total number of recoveries in the city has reached 97,993. Currently, there are 19,190 active cases across the city. 

In the last 24 hours, Dharavi recorded just nine new coronavirus cases, taking the total tally to 2,626.  Over the last two months, the slum clusters have seen a massive decline in the number of infected cases. As per the BMC, there are only 79 active cases while 2,289 patients have recovered from the deadly virus.

The areas of Dadar and Mahim have witnessed an increase in daily cases since last month. On Monday, 23 more patients tested positive for the infection in Dadar, taking the total tally to 2,043 in the area. While a total of 1,510 patients have been cured and discharged so far in Dadar, there are around 449 active cases in the area. Mahim reported 10 new infected cases, taking the total tally to 1,865. So far, 1,540 patients have been discharged in Mahim and there around 251 active cases. 

Since Unlock 3.0 has started, the state government has allowed malls, shopping complexes and markets to reopen in all the non-containment zones. However, due to the high number of coronavirus cases in areas like Mira-Bhayandar, Thane and Kalyan-Dombivali, the civic bodies have decided to keep the shops closed.  The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) has reported 2,523 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking its total to 2,69, 391. A total of 115 new deaths took the fatality toll to 10,856 in the region.
