There have been multiple instances of people directed to be in home-quarantine for 14 days, flouting to the order and through their negligence risking lives of others. One more addition in this list is that of a 25-year-old man from Dombivli (Dombivali). He had returned from Turkey on March 15 and was asked to be in self-isolation for 14 days. However, he decided to give that a complete skip and headed to a wedding instead.

The wedding in question was that of his brother and took place on March 19 in Dombivli itself. It is also being reported that there were 1,000 people that attended this wedding.

Even at that as per rules laid down by the state government no more than 50 people could have been present at a wedding. so it is surprising to note that the hosts decided to go ahead with the ceremony with such a large gathering.

Coming back to the man in question, he complained of cough, fever, and breathlessness soon after the wedding. After which he was admitted to Kasturba Hospital where he was tested positive for coronavirus.

The man works in a multinational company and had visited Turkey with his 21 friends.

According to the locals, the man had even distributed chocolates among the children in the locality. The locals added that when the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) staff visited his home after his return from Turkey, the man was present at home. However, once they left, the man started roaming around and met his friends.

As per KDMC Public Relations Officer, Madhavi Pophale, the individual's family members have been taken to the Kasturba Hospital and their reports are awaited.

The State and the Central Government have been taking all the measures to curb the further spread of nCOVID-19. But despite their attempts to make people understand the importance of social distancing, there have been repeated occurring of people just paying no heed to the directives.

So far, 147 coronavirus positive cases have been recorded in Maharashtra. Of which, 51 are from Mumbai.
