Mumbai Reports 917 New COVID-19 Cases, Only 81 Active Cases In Dharavi

A total of 99,147 patients have recovered and there are 18.905 active cases across the city.

Mumbai recorded 917 fresh COVID-19 patients on Tuesday, taking the total caseload of the city to 1,25,239. There were 48 more deaths in the city which has taken the fatality toll up to 6,890. According to the data provided by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), around 1,154 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours. A total of 99,147 patients have recovered and there are 18.905 active cases across the city.

The areas of Dadar and Mahim have witnessed a surge in infected cases over the last few weeks. Dadar reported 33 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. At least 1,541 patients have recovered and there are still 451 active cases in the area. The neighbouring area of Mahim recorded 12 new cases on Tuesday. Mahim currently has 280 active cases and around 1,552 have recovered and been  discharged. 

The nearby area of Dharavi, which was once a hotspot for the virus, has witnessed a massive decline in coronavirus cases in the last two months. Dharav reported just eight new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the caseload of the area to 2,634. As per the BMC, there are only 81 active cases in the area while 2,295 patients have recovered. 

Meanwhile, Maharashtra recorded 11,088 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, taking the state-wide tally to 5,35,601. With 256 more patients succumbing to the deadly virus, the death toll has gone up to 18,306 in the state.
