According to reports, many patients at Dahisar's COVID-19 centre are being shifted to other municipal hospitals so that the treatment can be conducted in a safe manner by avoiding the cyclonic effect.

After the IMD has warned of cyclone Tauktae, the civic body in Mumbai has put the Jumbo COVID care centres on standby.

Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that all Jumbo COVID centres have been asked to remain on standby and if needed, patients will be shifted to other places. She also mentioned that they are keeping a tab on the situation closely.

In preparation against the cyclone, Pednekar added that around 100 lifeguards are placed at various beaches for emergency rescue and fire brigade teams are also on standby.

According to reports, many patients at Dahisar's COVID-19 centre are being shifted to other municipal hospitals so that the treatment can be conducted in a safe manner by avoiding the cyclonic effect.

Dahisar COVID centre is one of the largest centres in the Mumbai municipal area where treatment of many patients is carried on.

Moreover, 100 patients from Mulund's Jumbo COVID centres have also been shifted to Mumbai's Rajawadi hospital, Bhabha hospital, and Agarwal school.

Several ambulances have also been station outside the jumbo COVID centre in BKC.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also directed the authorities in coastal districts- Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg - of the state to remain alert and well-equipped to tackle the situation.

In addition, the National Disaster Response Force has increased from 53 to 100 the number of teams earmarked to undertake relief and rescue measures.
