A team from the Delhi Government has commended the work of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for its handling of the coronavirus pandemic in the metropolitan city, adding that the ‘Mumbai model’ will soon be utilized in Delhi to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

The team from the Delhi Government’s Health Department comprising of Dr Sanjay Agarwal and Dr Dharmendra Kumar visited Mumbai recently to study the decisions taken by the BMC in handling COVID-19.

The team visited the Jumbo COVID facility in Goregaon as well as the BMC-run Seven Hills Hospital in Andheri while discussing a wide range of issues including management of oxygen supply, and the decentralization of cases through COVID War Rooms in each ward. They also visited the Ward War Rooms of wards D and K-East to study the bed allotment process as well as the overall handling of COVID-19 patients.

“At the end of this visit, the Delhi Government team said that the work done by BMC is exemplary and the 'Mumbai model' will be implemented in Delhi soon,” the BMC said in a statement.
