The number of coronavirus cases in Thane Municipal Corporation area is reducing by the day. The weekly rate too has come down.
So far 47,998 cases have been found in Thane Municipal Corporation area. Of these, 45,372 patients have recovered and returned home. The city currently treats 1,511 (3.15 per cent coronavirus patients) and the mortality rate has come down to 2.32 per cent.
Around 5,000 to 6,000 COVID tests are being conducted daily in Thane. Earlier, 200 to 250 cases were reported while now 125 to 150 cases are being reported every day.
The recovery rate is 8.72 per cent, earlier it was around 10 per cent. Over the last few months, various measures have been taken by the municipal administration to control the spread of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Wednesday reported 4,907 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total count of infections to 17,31,833 as per state health department. With 125 more patients succumbing to the viral infection the death toll mounted to 45,560. A total of 9,164 patients were discharged during the day, taking the tally of recoveries to 15,97,255. The state now has 88,070 active cases.
