The number of COVID-19 cases in Navi Mumbai hat shop up before Diwali. The cases in the city had doubled to 352 on November 11. Even post-Diwali the growth rate for COVID-19 cases did not come down, as a result, the doubling rate of the patients went up from 265 days to 365 days. Now, the doubling rate of the patients has come down to 454 days as the number of COVID-19 cases is decreasing.

In October the number of new COVID-19 cases increased to 46,221 of which 39,075 were completely recovered. Also, 993 deaths were reported with the fatality rate dropping to 2.15 per cent.

Navi Mumbai reported 52 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday (December 15) talking the tally up to 49,767. While 47,705 people have made a complete recovery from this disease, three deaths have been reported and the death toll now stands at 1,019. At present 1,043 patients are undergoing treatment in Navi Mumbai. While the recovery rate is at 95 per cent.

On Tuesday, 10 new cases were found in Belapur, 19 in Nerul, five in Vashi, two in Turbhe, four in Koparkhairane, seven in Ghansoli, four in Airoli and one in Digha.

While, the recovered patients are 34 from Belapur, 19 from Nerul, 16 from Vashi, 12 from Turbhe, 14 from Koparkhairane, six from Ghansoli, 31 from Airoli and three from Digha.

 The doubling rate of the patients from August to December is mention below:

  • August 15- 45 days
  • September 15- 67 days
  • October 15- 111 days
  • November 15- 352 days
  • December 15- 454 days
