The hike in cases of coronavirus experienced post the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi is now reportedly on a decline.

The number of patients suffering from the coronavirus in Mumbai had been on the rise since the month of September. In September, around 2,000 positive cases were reported every day. Currently, the number of patients testing positive, however, is on a decline.

On Sunday, 1,600 fresh cases of the coronavirus were registered. On Monday, 1,233 new patients tested positive for COVID-19. However, 2,12,905 patients have been cured so far of the contagious disease. Currently, 18,062 patients are undergoing treatment in the city.

So far, 13,54,182 tests have been conducted in Mumbai. While the target is to conduct 16,000 to 20,000 tests per day, at present up to 15,000 tests are being done every day. In Mumbai, the number of patients in the B section, which basically consists of the areas of Masjid Bunder, Bhendi Bazar, Dongri and Paydhuni, is under control. The total number of patients in this area happens to be less than two thousand.

As per reports, the number of patients suffering from the coronavirus in the B section has remained the lowest in the last six months. In other parts of Mumbai, 100 to 150 patients are found every day, but in the 'B' section, only 10 to 20 patients are being registered every day.
