As per a recent decision, residents from Worli and Prabhadevi areas of Mumbai will now be able to opt for a free coronavirus (COVID-19) at NSCI Worli and Poddar Hospital. These free trials have started at both locations.

Reports state that more than 7,000 coronavirus tests are being conducted daily in Mumbai, and observing the increasing number of cases in the locality, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) decided to increase the number of tests.

The target is to conduct 500 tests per day across nine wards in Mumbai which have a high number of cases with an increasing mortality rate. Moreover, other wards which have moderate or lesser cases have been instructed to increase the number of coronavirus tests.

Furthermore, the need for free tests has been identified across all wards, however, it has only begun at NSCI COVID facility and Poddar Hospital in Worli and Prabhadevi.

To make it easier for the visitors, officials have also set up waiting rooms at these centres, whereby patients with symptoms can wait for their report. It is often noted that people who develop symptoms with a pending test report have several doubts, and it would be difficult to address them.

This move is also expected to help patients stay in isolation thereby reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus infection.
