In the past few days, Navi Mumbai has been adversely affected by coronavirus infections. Therefore, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is making efforts to provide necessary health facilities for the treatment of the same. The COVID-19 care centres of the corporation, which were temporarily closed after the cases witnessed a downfall trend, are being reactivated. Proceedings are also underway to provide the required manpower for this.

Special care is being taken to ensure that the citizens do not face any problem in the availability of hospital beds and that the right type of beds and ambulances are available to them according to the severity of the symptoms.

Accordingly, under the guidance of NMMC Commissioner Abhijeet Bangar, 24x7 Emergency Call Center facility with helpline number has been started for Navi Mumbaikars for the availability of hospital beds and ambulances in case of emergency.

He has further requested patients suffering from the coronavirus and other citizens to contact the helpline number in order to acquire hospital beds, ambulances or other emergency medical services by calling on 022-27567460.

The facility portal dashboard https:/www.nmmchealthfacilities.com/ has already been launched by the corporation to know the current status of hospital facilities in the NMMC area. The nodal officers of each COVID-19 Hospital and Municipal Covid Centres have been directed to ensure that this hospital facility information dashboard is regularly updated.

If a citizen calls on the helpline number, it will be recorded by the call centre for the reference of doctors, which will help they understand the severity of the patient's symptoms. It will also help in following up until the appropriate hospital facilities are available. Apart from this, information and awareness about plasma donation will be provided through the call centre.

However, according to the feedback received from many citizens, although beds are available in a hospital on the facility portal, it is being said that beds are not available if you actually call. Therefore, the patient and the patient's relatives have to suffer.
