As the cases of coronavirus increase across the country, several people have been practising remedies at home in order to boost their immune system.

The Ministry of AYUSH of the Central Government has given some simple and easy tips to boost the immune system. They are:  

  • Drink warm water at all times throughout the day.
  • Yoga, pranayama, meditation should be practised for at least 30 minutes every day.
  • Be sure to include turmeric, cumin, coriander and garlic in your diet.
  • Add jaggery extract to basil, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper and turmeric and consume it.
  • People suffering from bile issues should use less amount of cinnamon.
  • Eat homemade food which is easy to digest twice without going hungry.
  • Combine clove and jaggery and chew it.
  • Start the day by eating chewing gum daily. People who have diabetes should eat sugar-free chewing gum.
  • Drink turmeric milk.
  • Put two drops of sesame or coconut oil or native ghee in the nostrils.
  • However, take only the prescribed amount of extract or medicine.
  • Spices mentioned in Ayurveda like black pepper, turmeric, ginger, ova, fenugreek, basil, clove etc. can harm your body due to excessive consumption so be mindful of the amount.
  • Moreover, do not blindly believe any information that comes on the internet.
  • Problems like sore throat, the onset of dry cough, indigestion, heartburn, irritability, mood swings, inattention, etc. can be seen due to overconsumption of Ayurvedic spices. Have everything in moderation.
