Borivali - A patient jumped to her death from the terrace of the Savitri Phule municipal hospital at Carter Road, Borivali East.
Police have filed a case of suicide, while the family members have accused the hospital of negligence. Parvati Dhuna (18) resident of Daulat Nagar in Borivali was suffering from fever and stomach pain for which she was hospitalized on 11 January at the Savitri Phule municipal hospital. Dhuna was allegedly not able to bear the stomach pain. Sources say that she was advised a blood infusion while another doctor from the hospital also asked to get her tests done.
While Dhuna's mother was out to buy coconut water, she went to the terrace and jumped. On hearing her screams, people rushed to the site and took her back to the hospital where she was declared dead.
Kasturba police reached the hospital and after completion of the investigations, the body was sent for post-mortem, family members of Parvati has blamed hospital authorities for their negligence and a suicide case was filed by Kasturba police.
