Day by day the mercury is rising in the state and 1,477 heat stroke patients have been found since March. Therefore, doctors are advising citizens to drink water mixed with ORS. However, in the last two years, the tender process for procurement of ORS has not been implemented by Hafkin Pharmaceuticals Corporation, which procures medicines for government hospitals in the state. So the administration has to work hard to provide ORS to the patients in the hospitals.

The scorching heat has been increasing in the state since March, and the temperature has increased in the last few days. Meteorological department has said that the mercury will rise more in the next few days. Citizens are shocked due to increasing heat and many are suffering from heat stroke. So doctors are advising patients to drink water mixed with ORS. Even children and adults suffer from dehydration in summer. ORS is beneficial for such patients. Therefore, water in ORS mixture is given to those suffering from heat stroke.

However, Hafkin Pharmaceuticals Corporation has not purchased ORS in the last two years. Hafkin bought ORS in February 2020. Hence, there is insufficient stock of ORS in medical colleges and hospitals. Keeping in mind the needs of the patients, the hospital administration is purchasing ORS locally, but due to increasing heatstroke, the patients are not getting enough ORS. Therefore, patients have to buy ORS from the drug store.

The temperature is increasing every year and it is causing problems to the citizens. At the same time, Abhay Pandey, president of All Food and License Holder Foundation, has alleged that Hafkin Pharmaceuticals Corporation is ignoring the purchase of ORS.
