The upgraded Modular Surgery House and the largest surgical care room was inaugurated in Grant Government Medical College and Sir J.J. hospital. MLA Yamini Jadhav was present on this occasion. Also Principal Secretary of Medical Education Department Dinesh Waghmare, Commissioner Rajiv Nivatkar, Director Dr. Ajay Chandanwale, Grant Government Medical College and Sir J.G. Founder of Group Hospital Dr. Pallavi Saple, Medical Superintendent Dr. Sanjay Surase and others were present too.

Minister Mushrif congratulated the hospital administration. He also said that the intensive care unit and modular surgery house is very useful for the patients undergoing this surgery and will definitely benefit the needy patients. Along with this, he said that kidney and liver transplant departments will soon be started in JJ Hospital of Mumbai, Sassoon Hospital of Pune and Government Hospital of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar as well as Government Hospital of Nagpur. 



The launched Surgical Intensive Care Unit is equipped with 34 modern beds and will have separate isolation rooms, biomedical waste rooms and negative pressure rooms. Similarly, the renovated modular surgery theater will be equipped with all the latest equipment and will be fully automated. From this operating theatre, medical students will be able to watch live telecasts of surgery while sitting in the classroom.
