Though IVF or surrogacy has brought relief to couples troubled by infertility, the cost is unaffordable for the general public. Therefore, even today, many people's desire to have a child remains unfulfilled. Keeping this in mind, efforts are being made by the Health Department to include surrogacy treatment in the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana. The health department has sent a proposal in this regard to the state government.


A woman cannot get pregnant for some reason. In such cases, surrogacy becomes a great option. But surrogacy usually costs 20 to 25 lakh rupees. This cost is beyond the reach of common people. However, to make surrogacy treatment accessible to common people, the state health department has taken steps to include it in the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana. An official of the health department informed that after the recent meeting in this regard, a similar proposal has also been prepared and this proposal has been sent to the state government for approval.

As the limit of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Yojana has been increased to five lakh, surrogacy treatment method is expected to be included in this. If this proposal is approved, it will provide relief to the couples who are deprived of having a child.


Who will benefit?

Women with underdeveloped uterus, weakened uterus, repeated miscarriages, IVF treatment failure more than three times, uterine tuberculosis.
