Since 2018, the Finance Department has approved the filling of 15, 511 such posts. Thus, the reservations of these posts need to be checked and the recruitment posts need to expedited. In order to carry out the recruitment process, pending at the interview stage of the process, four vacant posts of the MPSC members need to addressed. All procedures to fill these posts have been directed to be completed by the end of July.

In the cabinet meeting, a proposal was also tabled that the retirement age of medical officers of the Directorate of Health Services in the Public Health Department and the Maharashtra Medical and Health Services Group A in the State Labour Insurance Scheme shall be increased to 62 from 60. Initially, the age limit was 58 which was increased to 60 in the year 2015 and now stands at 62. This decision is undertaken owing to the current challenging times and is hoped to benefit the healthcare system in the state.
