On Friday, March 19, water supply and sanitation minister Gulabrao Patil tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to reports, Patil is admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai and is currently under treatment. However, as per his staff, he has been doing well.

Earlier on February 19, Bacchu Kadu, Maharashtra minister of state for water resources and education tested positive for the coronavirus for the second time. He had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 back in September last year. Moreover, he took to Twitter to inform, "I have been tested Covid positive for the second time. I am currently in isolation. Those who came in my contact get themselves tested,"

In recent developments, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. His mother and veteran actress Neetu Kapoor on Tuesday, March 9, shared the news on social media. She also stated that the 38-year-old actor has been in-home quarantine, as per BMC rules. She added in the caption, "He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions."

On the other hand, in December last year, while shooting for 'Jugg Jugg Jeeyo' in Chandigarh, Neetu had tested positive for COVID-19. Besides, several leading Bollywood stars had contracted the deadly disease earlier -- Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, and others have been infected with the virus.
