Through the Public Health Department, from 1 January to 30 October 2025, 15,079,852 citizens were screened for diabetes, of which 2,855,709 citizens are currently undergoing treatment in the state. Free diabetes screening and treatment are available at all government health centers across the state. World Diabetes Day will be observed on 14 November statewide, with various activities to raise awareness. This year, the World Health Organization’s theme is “Diabetes: Care at Every Stage of Life.”

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, under the guidance of Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Prakash Abitkar and State Minister Meghna Sakore Bordikar, various activities will be conducted to raise awareness among citizens. Diabetes can affect any stage of life, making proper prevention, screening, and treatment essential at every stage. Focus is being given to diabetes prevention, testing, and treatment from childhood to old age.

Experts believe that healthy diet, regular exercise, stress management, and timely screening are key components of diabetes control. Diabetes can impact all life stages, including childhood, reproductive age, working adulthood, and old age; hence, appropriate care is required at every stage.

On World Diabetes Day, health camps, awareness campaigns, lectures, and health conferences will be organized across the state to educate citizens about diabetes. Diabetes is a lifelong responsibility, and preventing it requires collective effort. Therefore, the Public Health Department has appealed to citizens to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
