Vice-Chancellor Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar (Retd) asserted that timely counselling by psychiatrists is necessary to relieve the mental stress of hectic life. A mental health helpline called 'Mansamvad' was launched by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences for the students at the hands of VC Lieutenant General Madhuri Kanitkar (retd).
On this occasion Vice Chancellor Lieutenant General Madhuri Kanitkar (Retd) said that stress free life is the need of the hour. Students have to face a lot of mental stress due to the hectic lifestyle. Students are going through constant irritation, insecurity, fear but they are not aware of it. It has been observed that the feeling of guilt and stress is increasing among the youth. Medical psychologists have been appointed in the university to resolve it. If you feel any fear, anxiety or stress during the exam, contact the University's mental health helpline directly. He said that this helpline was created to provide moral support, mental health support and guidance to students in difficult situations.
In the introduction of the program, the Director of Student Welfare Department Dr. Devendra Patil said that the increasing prevalence of mental diseases among students is a serious issue. The stress of daily life affects the mental and physical health of the students, for this a helpline has been started by the university. He said that the students should contact the Mansamwad helpline, which was started with the idea of the vice chancellor, for various mental problems. Students of affiliated colleges of the university should contact the 'Mansamwad' helpline number 8485092350. Counselling regarding mental health will be done by medical psychologists of the university.
