2 percent of passengers coming from abroad are being checked at the airport. But for the past few days, the number of patients infected with coronavirus is increasing and the corona test of passengers coming from China and Dubai is coming positive. Against this backdrop, the Corona State Action Force has advised the state government to make the corona test mandatory for passengers coming from Dubai and China.


In view of the increasing number of corona infected patients in the country, the Union Health Ministry has ordered all the state governments to be alert. Accordingly, the Maharashtra government recently held a review meeting with all the officials and the Corona State Action Task Force. The number of corona infected patients abroad is increasing. A large number of corona infected patients are found among travelers coming to India from China and Dubai. Therefore, the State Corona Action Force has instructed the State Government and the Airport Authority to screen passengers coming from Dubai and China at the airport.


Considering the situation at the international level, as per the instructions of the Government of India, passenger survey has been started from December 24, 2022 at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur International Airports in the state. In this, thermal screening of all passengers is being done and samples of 2 percent passengers are being taken for corona test. Out of these, every sample infected with coronavirus is being sent for genetic sequencing. Till March 30th, 35,947 passengers have been tested for coronavirus, of which 43 samples have been sent for genetic sequencing. These 43 patients include 10 from Pune, 8 from Mumbai, 1 each from Navi Mumbai, Amravati, Sangli, Aurangabad, Satara, 5 from Gujarat, 3 each from Uttar Pradesh and Kerala, 2 each from Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Odisha, and Goa, Assam, Telangana includes 1 patient.
