Mumbai high court takes MARD and striking doctors to task

The Mumbai High Court today reprimanded the MARD (Maharashtra Assoc. of Resident Doctors) and agitating doctors for not complying with HC orders and resuming duties.

The High Court slammed the doctors saying the agitating medicos were making certain statements in court and behaving in a contrary fashion outside Court.

The Court has directed MARD to file an affidavit today by 3 pm that

  • MARD has failed to convince its members

  • MARD has no objection if government takes action against Doctors on strike

The HC also warned MARD that if they don't file this affidavit today by 3 pm, HC will initiate contempt proceedings against President and Secretary of MARD.

Earlier today, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis slammed the striking doctors for not acceding the high court's and government's directives to resume duties.
