Patients suffering from ear diseases come in large numbers to the ENT department of Nair Hospital. Due to the efforts of Nair hospital, 44 children who were deaf due to some reason got their hearing back. 44 children and their parents expressed their happiness about this.


The ENT department of Nair Hospital has got many patients with hearing problems and most of them are children. Some children are born hearing impaired. Some of these undergo cochlear implant surgery, while others are provided with hearing aids. Nair Hospital recently played an important role in helping 44 children regain their hearing ability. Some of these 44 children were unable to speak due to hearing impairment, the children were screened and underwent cochlear implant surgery. Some children were provided with hearing aids.

This made the children and their parents happy. These children have now started singing along with listening to songs with great joy. Children with cochlear implants were given information on how to take care and maintain the implant by representatives of the cochlear company about the advancements in this technology. Head of ENT Department Dr. Bachchi Hathiram and Dr. Vicky Khattar and officials of Social Services Department guided these children.
