Coronavirus cases increase in Dadar and Mahim

As of July 15, 2020, a total of 59 patients tested positive for coronavirus in Dadar, taking the tally to 1,277. Further, 17 new patients have been identified in Mahim and the number of patients has gone up to 1,420.

Coronavirus cases in some parts of Mumbai like Dharavi and Worli have been brought under control. However, the cases in areas like Dadar and Mahim are increasing day by day, and the concern regarding the same has been growing over the last few days.

As of July 15, 2020, a total of 59 patients tested positive for coronavirus in Dadar, taking the tally to 1,277. Further, 17 new patients have been identified in Mahim and the number of patients has gone up to 1,420. Currently, there are 386 active patients in Dadar.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has clarified that the number of patients is increasing as screening camps have been started in several buildings in Dadar. Furthermore, very few COVID-19 cases have been found in Dharavi in the last few days. As per the data, 23 new coronavirus cases were identified in Dharavi on Wednesday, June 15, 2020. 

The number of corona patients in Mumbai is also increasing, but the good news is that the recovery rate in the city has gone up to 70 per cent.

The growth rate of coronavirus is less than 1.5 per cent in around 17 of Mumbai's 24 wards. While some of these wards have a growth rate of less than one per cent. The remaining seven wards have a growth rate of at least 2.5 per cent.
