Despite heavy rains, Maharashtra State Chemist and Druggist Association (MSCDA) carried out a protest outside Bandra’s Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) office against illegal pharmacies which are operating online.

Chemists are unhappy with the union government which is considering to permit the online pharmacies to supply medicines in the country.

No chemist can sell medicines without a doctor’s prescription and in the absence of the pharmacist, said Parsik Ghadge, President, MSCDA. Despite this, the union government is ready to give permission to online web portals to sell medicines.

One can buy medicines without a prescription which can hamper one’s health. Also, if one consumes wrong medicine, then it can cause death as well. Hence, we want the central government to disallow selling of medicines online,” Parsik Ghadge, President, MSCDA.
