Maharashtra government will organise a polio vaccination programme on March 10. Under this campaign, nearly 1.22 crore children between the age of zero to five will be provided polio medicine across the state. 

The state government will install approximately 82,719 polio booths. Maharashtra Health Minister Eknath Shinde appealed to the public to visit the health centres along with their children for polio dosage. 

Maharashtra government has appointed 2,19,313 staff members for this work and almost 16,548 supervisors have been assigned to cover 2,92,19,543 houses under this campaign. Nearly 13,927 mobile teams will also be active for the same.

Earlier in 2018, almost 1.20 crore children were given polio vaccination under this programme. This year the government aims to provide the same to almost 1,21,98,000 children in the state. ‘Task Force Drive’ campaign has been initiated along with various agencies under the chairmanship of state Health Secretary Pradeep Vyas.
