Pune reported 465 new COVID-19 cases, 184 recoveries and six deaths on Thursday, February 18, taking the total number of cases up to 1,96,389. According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), there are 2,156 active cases while 1,89,421 patients have recovered so far. The death toll in Pune is at 4,812.

As many as 4,424 tests were conducted taking the total count to 10,85,539.

On Thursday, February 18, Maharashtra recorded 5,427 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 20,81,520. Currently, there are 40,858 active cases in the state. With 2,543 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number recovered soared to 19,87,804.

More than 38 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 51,669. While 2,16,908 persons are under home quarantine, 1,743 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 95.5 per cent, and 2.48 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 13,193 new cases, 10,896 recoveries and 97 deaths taking the tally up to 1,09,63,394 on Thursday, February 18. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,06,67,741 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,56,111 in the country. At present, there are 1,39,542 active cases. So far, 1,01,88,007 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the country.
