Post the attack on resident doctors by the angry relatives, security has been beefed up at BMC hospitals. Almost 400 security guards have been stationed at civic-run hospitals who will keep a close tab on patient’s relatives who will have to go through a strict vigil.

After the attack on resident doctors went viral, it was followed up by candle march and then they went on mass leave. This went on for five days until the state assured them to fulfil their demands. Maharashtra State Security Corporation have installed 400 jawans. They have provided 70 security guards at KEM hospital. In the first phase, 400 security guards will be provided and post 1 May, 300 security guards will be provided.

Henceforth, only two people will be allowed with the patient’s relatives in the hospital and they will be able to enter with a pass. Along with this, the alarm system will also be installed.
