The Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has decided to start a separate vaccination centre for senior citizens so that they do not have to wait too long at the vaccination centres.
Moreover, the municipality plans to set up separate vaccination centres in Dombivali, Kalyan and Titwala areas. Currently, vaccination of citizens above 45 years of age is underway. Many senior citizens have to stand outside vaccination centres from 5 a.m. onwards in order to get the doses. Some have diabetes, high blood pressure, or other illnesses. One to two people from the house come to bring some citizens to the vaccination centre. Therefore, it has been unnecessary crowding reported in these centres.
On the other hand, earlier on May 19, BJP MP Manoj Kotak inaugurated the drive-in vaccination centre at Ghatkopar Police Ground. The same was done in order to facilitate and make the vaccine for COVID-19 available to the citizens in the eastern suburbs of Mumbai. With the inauguration of this drive-in vaccination, people can sit in their car and get vaccinated comfortably.
Speaking about the same, the BJP MP stated, "The biggest means of service in the coronavirus period is to make the vaccine facility available. In this service, we and our workers are deeply involved. The number of vaccine centres is being increased, drive-in vaccines are part of that, our workers will help those who do not have a vehicle,"
Meanwhile, MLA Parag Shah, Corporator Bindu Trivedi, Corporator Bhalchandra Shirsat, BJP Mumbai Secretary Praveen Chheda, BJP North East district president Ashok Rai were present on this special occasion.
