On Wednesday, May 19, BJP MP Manoj Kotak inaugurated the drive-in vaccination centre at Ghatkopar Police Ground.
The same was done in order to facilitate and make the vaccine for COVID-19 available to the citizens in the eastern suburbs of Mumbai. With the inauguration of this drive-in vaccination, people can sit in their car and get vaccinated comfortably.
The drive-in vaccine centre is open to senior citizens over 60 years of age along and the specially-abled citizens. This initiative is touted to benefit them as they will not have to stand in long queues for hours in the scorching sun, and will be vaccinated immediately. Moreover, as there will be no unnecessary crowds at the centre, this centre will be convenient for the elderly.
Speaking about the same, the BJP MP stated, "The biggest means of service in the coronavirus period is to make the vaccine facility available. In this service, we and our workers are deeply involved. The number of vaccine centres is being increased, drive-in vaccines are part of that, our workers will help those who do not have a vehicle,"
Meanwhile, MLA Parag Shah, Corporator Bindu Trivedi, Corporator Bhalchandra Shirsat, BJP Mumbai Secretary Praveen Chheda, BJP North East district president Ashok Rai were present on this special occasion.
On the other hand, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), on May 6, 2021, started an innovative initiative called the drive-in vaccination for the benefit of the citizens. As per reports, the plan was made to make it easier for the citizens above 45 years of age, especially senior citizens and the disabled. This move was appreciated by the citizens who expressed satisfaction as they can get vaccinated comfortably while sitting in the car.
