Thane reported 780 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths on Sunday, March 7, taking the total number of cases in the district up to 2,69,845. There are 7,264 active cases and 2,56,279 patients have completely recovered so far.

The death toll in Thane has now reached 6,302 in the district with three new deaths reported in the last 24 hours. While the recovery rate stands at 94.97 per cent while the mortality rate is 2.34 per cent.

As many as 46,312 COVID-19 cases and 1,205 deaths were reported in Palghar district.

On Sunday, March 7, Maharashtra recorded 11,141 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 22,19,727. Currently, there are 97,983 active cases in the state. With 6,013 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 20,68,044.

More than 38 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 52,478. While 4,39,055 persons are under home quarantine, 4,650 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 93.17 per cent, and 2.36 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 18,599 new cases, 14,278 recoveries and 97 deaths taking the tally up to 1,12,29,398 on Sunday, March 7. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,08,82,798 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,57,853 in the country. At present, there are 1,88,747 active cases.
