Thane reported 300 new COVID-19 cases and six deaths on Tuesday, January 19, taking the total number of cases in the district up to 2,50,035. There are 3,776 active cases and 2,40,196 patients have completely recovered so far.

The death toll in Thane has now reached 6,063 in the district with six new deaths reported in the last 24 hours. While the recovery rate stands at 96.06 per cent while the mortality rate is 2.42 per cent.

As many as 44,896 COVID-19 cases and 1,195 deaths were reported in Palghar district.

On Tuesday, January 19, Maharashtra recorded 2,294 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 19,94,977. Currently, there are 48,406 active cases in the state. With 4,516 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 18,94,839.

More than 50 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 50,523. While 2,18,058 persons are under home quarantine, 1,996 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.98 per cent, and 2.53 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 13,823 new cases, 16,988 recoveries and 162 deaths taking the tally up to 1,05,95,660 on Tuesday, January 19. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,02,45,741 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,52,718 in the country. At present, there are 1,97,201 active cases. According to the ICMR, 18,85,66,947 samples have been tested up to January 19. So far 6,74,835 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the country.
