Thane reported 265 new COVID-19 cases and four deaths on Sunday, February 7, taking the total number of cases in the district up to 2,55,749. There are 3,199 active cases and 2,46,367 patients have completely recovered so far.

The death toll in Thane has now reached 6,183 in the district with four new deaths reported in the last 24 hours. While the recovery rate stands at 96.33 per cent while the mortality rate is 2.42 per cent.

As many as 45,340 COVID-19 cases and 1,199 deaths were reported in Palghar district.

On Sunday, February 7, Maharashtra recorded 2,673 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 20,44,071. Currently, there are 35,948 active cases in the state. With 1,622 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 19,55,548.

More than 30 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 51,310. While 1,72,311 persons are under home quarantine, 1,979 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 95.67 per cent, and 2.51 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 11,831 new cases, 11,904 recoveries and 84 deaths taking the tally up to 1,08,38,194 on Sunday, February 7. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,05,34,505 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,55,080 in the country. At present, there are 1,48,609 active cases. According to the ICMR, 20,19,00,614 samples have been tested up to February 7. So far, 58,12,362 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the country.
