The coronavirus cases in the state, including Mumbai, have been witnessing a sharp spike since last month. As a result, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken measures to speed up the COVID-19 test.

In order to make the testing convenient for citizens, an NGO named Udaan Foundation will provide the COVID-19 tests facility at doorsteps. Due to this, there will be no overcrowding at the centres and it will also save the time of the citizens.

In case of any doubts, the citizens can even take doctor’s advice at Covid Tracker helpline number - 9923991075. Further tests and medication will be given at the patient's home if required. Moreover, critically ill patients will be assisted through government agencies for the treatment. All these facilities will be provided at government rates and in accordance with World Health Organization standards.

The 'Covid Tracker' helpline has been started for the citizens of Mumbai by 'Udaan Foundation'. The scheme was launched by MP Rahul Shewale and Kamini Rahul Shewale, President of 'Shri Radha Foundation'. Under this scheme, the citizens will be given COVID-related guidance and various tests will be made available to citizens at home.

"Congratulations to the 'Covid Tracker' helpline facility launched by Udaan Foundation! This helpline will enable citizens to do coronavirus test without even stepping out of the house. This will also help in reducing the stress on the government hospitals and centres to a certain extent. The Radha Foundation will co-operate in accommodating the needy patients in South-Central Mumbai under this scheme,” said Rahul Shewale.

Besides, the government and civic hospitals have started the vaccine inoculation to its senior citizens in full swing from March 1.
