Ulhasnagar records more than 8,000 coronavirus cases

As of Sep 3, Thursday, 73 new COVID-19 cases and no deaths were reported. On the other hand, coronavirus cases in Mumbai have crossed the 1.5-lakh mark.

Maharashtra has been fighting against coronavirus for over a few months now, and the state continues to be the most-affected across India. While the number of cases has reduced in Mumbai, other cities across the state have seen an exponential rise, and with the recently released data, four divisions in Maharashtra have more than one-lakh cases.

The State Health Department released the update on Thursday, September 3, 2020, which showed that coronavirus cases in Mumbai have crossed the 1.5-lakh mark. Meanwhile, Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation also reported more than 8,000 coronavirus cases, with 73 new cases reported in one day. However, no deaths were reported on Thursday, and the death toll for Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) currently stands at 291.

More than 18,000 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the state on Thursday, and the total positive cases have now reached 8,43,844.

The report also states that Thane division (excluding Mumbai) has a total of 1,96,273 cases. Below mentioned is the data for the division, as of September 3, 2020.

As of Thursday, 2,05,428 cases were active in the state, out of which 21,439 were from Mumbai and 21,120 were from Thane. More than 6,00,000 patients have after full recovered and discharged, taking the recovery rate to 72.58 per cent in the state.

On the other hand, the state fatality rate due to COVID-19 stands at 3.03 per cent, Officials have screened 43,72,697 laboratory samples, of which 19.29 per cent have tested positive till date, and keeping their condition in mind, they are either being subjected to either home or institutional quarantine.
