The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination drive for healthcare and frontline workers under which employees of the Municipal Corporation and BEST are being vaccinated. As per reports, each employee will get 3 opportunities for free vaccination and if the employee does not attend all the three times, then their name will be removed from the list of free vaccinations.
A special meeting of the task force set up for the vaccination in BMC areas was held on Monday, February 15, 2021. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Devidas Kshirsagar, Director Ramesh Bharmal and various department heads and concerned officers.
Addressing the concerns, Suresh Kankani said that all department heads and officials should take the initiative to vaccinate themselves first and then motivate other employees in their jurisdiction to get vaccinated.
If the department or account head has a 'WhatsApp group' then they must share your photo while being vaccinated. It was also suggested that other employees should be keen on vaccination. Furthermore, to encourage participation, BMC has also planned to arrange vehicles if 10 or more employees of a department choose to get vaccinated at the same time.
