It has been reported that the ITS will be put up at an expenditure of INR 427 crore. This will be done by an Australian company in collaboration with an agency from India.

An official was quoted in narratives elaborating on how the ITS entails works of the sea link, street lighting system, design and supply of administrative buildings, construction of toll plaza, it will also include a Command Control Centre for monitoring the sea link using 133 cameras.

The MTHL is a 22 km-long sea link that will help connect south Mumbai to Navi Mumbai. In other developments, the MMRDA is also looking to connect the MTHL with the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. This is being done with the hope that it will curtail the travel time between both the cities.

In the INR 18,000 crore MTHL scheme presently, 65 per cent of the project’s work is finished and the remaining of the work is anticipated to be completed in 2023, claimed accounts.
