According to reports, out of 256, 130 tenants had earlier visited the site office located at NM Joshi Marg to register their agreements online. 451 of the total 800 tenants who are undergoing redevelopment in the first phase are eligible according to final annexure 2 (Part 1).

An official of MHADA says that at present, online registration of 451 eligible tenants agreements is required to be completed on priority, after that, they will be shifted to transit camps which will be located within two kilometres of their current house.

Out of 32 buildings in BDD Chawl of NM Joshi Marg, in its first phase, seven have been taken for redevelopment. Notably, last year, a slab had collapsed in one of the buildings and therefore MHADA has taken up to shift the tenants as soon as possible. However, there were no casualties reported but there was an urgent need to start redevelopment.
