Two swimming pools have been opened for the citizens at Dahisar and Malad without any inauguration. So citizens have started swimming in both these lakes. Currently, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has a total of six swimming pools in mumbai. Construction of swimming pools is in progress at seven more places. The civic body is trying to open this lake for citizens soon. Among them, the swimming pools at Malad West and Dahisar West have been opened from April 1.


Currently, the BMC has a total of six swimming pools in Mumbai. Among them, the swimming pools at Dadar, Kandivali, Dahisar and Chembur are looked after by the BMC. Whereas the swimming pools at Priyadarshini Sports Complex in Mulund and Shahaji Raje Bhosale Sports Complex in Andheri have been given to one organisation to run. Of the seven new lakes, four will be in the western suburbs, two in the city and one in the eastern suburbs. Among them, the swimming pool in the Kandarpada area of Dahisar (West) and the swimming pool near Chacha Nehru Maidan in Malad (West) have been inaugurated.


These areas will have the swimming pools
Gilbert Hill Swimming Pool in Andheri (West), Kondivita Village Swimming Pool in Andheri (East), Worli Reservoir Hill Swimming Pool in Worli, Tagore Nagar Swimming Pool in Vikhroli (East) and Wadala Fire Station Swimming Pool in Wadala. 


Construction of new swimming pools at these 7 places is underway. The municipal administration has informed that the membership registration process will begin after the construction of the lake is completed and the inauguration. Out of this, the swimming pool at the fire station in Wadala is currently under the jurisdiction of the fire station and it will also be opened for the public after renovation in the near future.
