The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will demolish and reconstruct three bridges in the Bhandup region as per a new report. These bridges were recently deemed to be in a dilapidated condition and the civic body has now cleared a proposal to revive them.
The proposal states that the BMC will spend ₹29 crores on the demolition and reconstruction of the three bridges in order to help pedestrians cross the Usha Nagar nullah situated in Bhandup (East).
An official familiar with the matter said, “The bridge was in dilapidated condition and an earlier structural audit suggested the demolition of these bridges. The pillars of all three are in poor condition.”
