The Byculla ROB will be ready by October, which will relieve traffic problems in South Mumbai. The work of connecting this bridge has started and BEST buses are being diverted for it. According to the information received from BEST, the traffic of vehicles in the down direction has been stopped. Hence bus route numbers C-1, 4, A-5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 15, A-19, A-21, A-25, C-51, 67 and 69 will be diverted.


A cable bridge will be built in Byculla

Construction of the new ROB is being done by the Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (Maharel). According to official information, the Byculla ROB will be made a cable bridge. An official said that work on all the bridges is in progress, but the Byculla and Reay Road bridges will be completed in the coming months. The capacity of this ROB will also be increased and it will now be 6 lanes. Once the new ROB is constructed, the existing old bridges will be demolished by diverting the traffic over it.

45 percent work completed

About 45 percent of the work on the Byculla Bridge has been completed. The Byculla Bridge is being constructed on the Eastern Expressway, with a deadline of October 2024. Maharail says that the work of Reay Road Bridge will be completed before Byculla. Dadar Bridge will be constructed in two phases. The work of the new bridge will be completed in the first phase. This will not affect traffic on the existing old bridge. In the second phase, the work of the other end of the cable bridge will be done. Among all the bridges, the work of Ghatkopar ROB is challenging. The High Speed Rail and Metro-4 routes also pass through here. The work on the bridge started in March last year and so far about 12 percent of the work has been completed.
