A case of a colossal scam of a sum as huge as Rs 200 crore has been unleashed for a piece of land in Mazgaon that was given on lease for a period of 99 years. The land was allotted to the Women Foreign Missionary Society of the Episcopal Church in the year 1903. As per the sources, the Lohana Residential Trust sold the land to the builder Gold Plaza Developers in the year 2010 for Rs 3 crore. As of now, around 150 tenants are residing in the building.
Further, Chandrakant Patil, the Cabinet Minister in the state's Government stated that it has taken the matter into consideration just at the right time. Along with that, a case has been filed against the Gold Plaza developers and Lohana Trust in Mumbai Collector office.
