On Thursday, November 18,  housing minister Jitendra Awhad informed that the third Kalwa Creek Bridge will now be further extended till Patni. Initially, it was going to be constructed till Chhatrapati Shivaji Hospital which is also known as Kalwa Hospital.

They will be constructing another lane from the left side of the creek towards Atmaram Chowk in Kalwa. It will ease the traffic congestion in Kalwa. Along with Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) officials, Awhad surveyed the ongoing projects.

Recently, a meeting was held with Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, where changes were also on the agenda of the meeting. The housing minister said that ending the bridge at Kalwa hospital would lead to traffic, so they suggested extending the bridge to Patni ground. The commissioner (SVR Srinivas, metropolitan commissioner, MMRDA) approved the same.

A parallel road to Kharegoan from the Creek to Atmaram Chowk will be constructed to avoid traffic near the civic hospital, and it will bypass the vehicular load near the hospital. They have already prepared the design, he added. Likewise, in four months, they will complete the work on the pedestrian bridge near Vitawa. They have also demanded the state to begin toll collection on Mumbra Bypass Road to make sure that vehicles do not use the road unnecessarily.

Meanwhile, MMRDA is planning to construct a dedicated cycling lane between Kalanagar and Vakola.
