Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railways (CR) will be reviewing the details of impending dismantling work of Carnac Road Over Bridge to be done o­n November 19/20, 2022.

Owing to this, CR announces 27 hours Special Traffic and Power Block on Saturday/Sunday for dismantling of Carnac Road Over Bridge:

From 11:00 pm of 19.11.2022 (Saturday) to 04:00pm of 20.11.2022 (Sunday) on UP & DN Local Line

From 11:00 pm of 19.11.2022 (Saturday) to 04:00pm of 20.11.2022 (Sunday) on UP & DN Fast Line

From 11:00pm of 19.11.2022 (Saturday) to 08:00pm of 20.11.2022 (Sunday) on UP & DN Harbour Line

BLOCK ON CSMT - MASJID

Special Suburban Sevice will run from BY, PR, DR, CLA, on Main line Special Suburban Sevice will run from VDLR on Harbour line.

Railways in coordination with Municipal Authorities have arranged buses for the benefit of passengers.

Lines and UP & DN Harbour Lines between CSMT-MASJID Station at KM 0/1-2 for dismantling of Carnac Road Over Bridge using Road crane.

The Block details are as under:

UP & DN Slow lines: 23:00 hrs (Saturday-19.11.2022) to 16:00 hrs (Sunday-20.11.2022)= 17.00 hrs; UP & DN Fast lines: 23.00 hrs (Saturday-19.11.2022) to 16:00 hrs (Sunday-20.11.2022) 17.00 hrs: UP & DN Harbour lines: 23:00 hrs (Saturday-19.11.2022) to 20:00 hrs (Sunday-20.11.2022) 21.00 hrs: 7" Line and yard: 23.00 hrs (Saturday-19.11.2022) to 02.00 hrs (Monday-21.11.2022) 27.00 hrs Train Services will not run on: UP & DN Harbour lines: VADALA ROAD to CSMT; UP & DN Slow lines: BYCULLA to CSMT; UP & DN Fast lines: BYCULLA to CSMT

REPERCUSSION ON TRAIN SERVICES

- CANCELLATION OF SUBURBAN TRAINS

Suburban services will not be available between BYCULLA & CSMT

on Main line and VADALA ROAD & CSMT on Harbour line during the block period. UP and DN suburban services on Main Line will be short terminated/originated at BYCULLA, PAREL, DADAR and KURLA stations. Suburban trains will be run at less frequency between Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Kurla to Thane and beyond.

UP and DN suburban services on Harbour Line will be short terminated/originated at VADALA ROAD station. Suburban trains will be run at less frequency between Vadala Road and Kurla and beyond. AC services running on Sunday will not be available. Adequate buses have been requested to run by the Municipalities in the block affected areas.

Adequate refund counters will be opened at major junctions and station for the convenience of passengers. Helpdesk will also be opened for guiding the passengers.

Guiding the officers, Lahoti said that all Departments i.e construction, Engineering, Electrical, Operating, Commercial and RPF should ensure proper management of Block. He also said that all dismantling related works should be completed at the targeted time.

To ensure smooth and disruption free services during the block, Lahoti said that Proper & regular announcement of the short termination/short origination of Mail/Express trains & Suburban trains should be made and emphasised o­n using Bulk SMS to all passengers regarding short termination/ short origination of their respective trains.

During the meeting, the General Manager also instructed about the arrangements of help desks at major stations & proper bus arrangements to be done in coordination with BEST and MSRTC for the convenience of the passengers.

Ensuring the safety aspects, RPF should coordinate with GRP and State Police and sufficient force personnel to be deputed at various stations during the Block period.

Regarding the Dismantling preparation, Lahoti also instructed the officials to thoroughly pre-check the machines and ensure their proper functioning.
