Radheshyam Mopalwar, Director General (War Room, Infrastructure Projects) and Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) was quoted in a report by the Indian Express elaborating on how the first phase of the Mumbai-Nagpur expressway which stretches on an area of 480 km from Shirdi to Nagpur, is finished. 

He added that Chief Minister has proclaimed that they look to inaugurate it on August 15. However, they are awaiting formal communication in this regard. He claimed that the Prime Minister is anticipated to inaugurate it. 

Further in the account, Mopalwar shared that they have deployed ambulance services on the stretch in addition to petrol pumps and toll collection systems. He alleged that they are planning to finish the complete 700-km stretch by May end of next year. 

On the other hand, the Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray prosperity corridor between Mumbai and Nagpur will deduct toll only at the exit gates and not while entering it, narratives suggested. At the entrance, only the vehicle will be registered besides noting the vehicle’s entry time, location by kilometre, and Fastag registration number. 

Additionally, reports have been suggesting that the Expressway is slated to be the first highway in India with nine green bridges or overpasses. Apart from this, 17 underpasses for wild animal movements have been made.
