Soon, residents in Mumbai will be able to reach Goa in just 10 hours, covering more than 580 kilometers. The lane of the greenfield highway will be completed by May, Maharashtra Public Works Minister Ravindra Chavan told the state assembly earlier this week. Meanwhile, in the next nine months the government will try to open the entire corridor.  Currently, it takes 20 hours from Mumbai to Goa and it is expected to reduce by half to 10 hours.

The 250km of the 355km Indapur to Zarap stretch has been completed while a 105 km stretch towards south Konkan will be ready in nine to 10 months, as per the NHAI officials.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra’s Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said within six months the remaining stretch of the 701-km-long Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Mahamarg will be completed.
