The price of houses in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana at Goregaon, Pahadi of MHADA's Mumbai Mandal has increased by INR 1.92 lakh. In August 2023, the house in this scheme was sold for 30 lakh 44 thousand rupees. Now the eligible winners have to pay 32 lakh 36 thousand rupees for these houses.
An estimated 1,900 houses in the housing project at Pahadi Goregaon of Mumbai Mandal are included in the PMAY scheme. Lottery for these houses was held in August 2023. According to the PMAY scheme, the annual family income limit was fixed at INR 3 lakh. These houses received a good response from the applicants. But due to financial or other reasons, 88 houses in PMAY have been returned by the winners. Since it remained vacant, these houses have now been included in the upcoming 2024 draw. But this time the price of these houses has increased.

After inclusion of 88 houses in PMAY, their prices were fixed. Accordingly, the price was increased by two and a half lakhs to 33 lakh 02 thousand rupees. In total, the price of houses was increased by two lakh 52 thousand rupees. The news about this was released by Loksatta on July 2.
The aspirants expressed their displeasure due to the increase in the price. After that now the Mumbai Board has finally reduced the price. A senior officer of the Mumbai Board has informed that the price has been reduced by 56 thousand and now the price has been fixed at 32 lakh 36 thousand rupees for this house. Prices are determined by charging interest rates as per rules. Officials said that one lakh 92 thousand rupees have been increased accordingly.
