MahaRERA has made it mandatory to print QR codes along with all advertisements of housing projects from August 1. Apart from advertisements in newspapers, it is also keeping an eye on advertisements on social media such as online, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. Non-use of QR codes in online and Facebook ads has been found to be significant. Also, in response to notices issued in connection with online and Facebook advertisements, some developers took the stand that we did not serve these advertisements. Therefore, the concerned developers have been ordered to file a complaint with the Cyber Crime Department against those who advertise without permission.

Every developer provides their project agent information on the website. Buyers should be aware of these advertisements on social media and check the respective developer's website. Therefore, MahaRERA has appealed to the customers to check the websites of the respective developers to avoid fraud.
