Bandra - The SRA (Slum Rehabilitation Authority) has pulled up the housing authority MHADA for failing to provide affordable housing for slum dwelllers.
The SRA has alleged that MHADA has initiated the rehabilitation work for slum dwellers in the Bandra Reclamation area, which has been in the pipeline for many months now. Along with a list of defaulting builders, the MHADA has been included in the list of those that have impeded the process of rehabilitating the slum dwellers.
The SRA has sent a notice to MHADA vice-president Sambhaji Zende seeking a reason for the same. The SRA has sent notices to 114 builders of the city, who have not initiated the projects, even after receiving NOCs. The slum dwellers meanwhile are a happy lot, with the SRA getting stricter with MHADA.
