The Maharashtra Housing and Developing Authority (MHADA) has given the extension of paying the house amount till December 15, 2020 to 700 eligible winners of Mumbai Board General Lottery and Mill Workers Lottery whereas 1000 eligible beneficiaries of Konkan Board Lottery in 2014, 2016 and 2018 will get the benefit of this extension. The period of letters issued to the eligible beneficiaries of the Konkan Mandal Lottery was earlier till 15 March 2020. This will also benefit the mill workers.

All transactions have been on hold ever since the lockdown began in March this year due the coronavirus pandemic. A lot of people have been facing difficulties as they haven’t gotten their salaries yet and a lot of them had to leave the areas where they used to work and go back to their hometown due to uncertainty of work opportunities. This decision from MHADA will come across as a huge relief to people.

There are currently 7,71,833 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country and 2,23,724 cases in Maharashtra. Various states have extended the lockdown till either mid or end of July and strict precautions are being taken in containment areas with either partial or complete lockdown.

Lockdown in Maharashtra has been extended till July 31.
